OVERRUN FELL BACK TO BUILDING INTERIOR--AWAITING EVAC
— Waters in the "Field Ops Log"
Waters is a character who appears in The Last of Us. He was a soldier of the U.S. Military in the Boston area, and was the officer in charge of a patrol which included Privates Atwater, Shah, and Coolidge.
Background & Early LifeEdit
Not much is known about Waters' background or early life except that he was a soldier of the United States Military.
In July of 2033, he was the officer in charge of a patrol with Privates Atwater, Shah, and Coolidge on the outskirts of the Boston area. Private Atwater saw and/or heard an Infected near a collapsed office building. The patrol went to investigate and were soon attacked by multiple Infected, killing his three patrol members and leaving him to retreat into the Goldstone Building.
While awaiting evac, it is presumed that Waters bled out and died or, judging by the spent shell casings around his corpse, was slaughtered by more Infected despite trying to defend himself.
Events of The Last of Us Edit
In The Last of Us, Waters' corpse can be seen in the Goldstone Building, along with the "Field Ops Log" artifact, in the chapter "The Outskirts". His log and corpse are found by Joel, Ellie and Tess, Joel remarking "looks like they died waiting for backup".
