After years of development, months of anticipation, weeks of spectacle, and days of spoiler-dodging, your patience has finally paid off. Depending on your time zone, The Last of Us should be available either right now or very soon. So I'm not going to bore you any more with a long post. Enjoy the game everybody.

    Spoilers include, but are not limited to:

    • Plot and/or ending details
    • Playable character information
    • Cutscene titles
    • Walkthrough videos
    • Forum discussions about any of the above

    Any editors posting any of the above may be banned from editing until the game releases on Friday. If you do wish to discuss any of the videos that have been posted online, Naughty Dog have an official forum that you can use.

    These rules are in the interest of fairness to the editors here who do not want the game ruined or it's impact diminished.

    Early reviews for The Last of Us have been pouring in today following the end of the embargo. The game currently has an average score of 95 on Metacritic, which gives it the status of "Universal Acclaim".

    Film magazine Empire described it as "an easy contender for the best game of this console generation" and went on to say that "it may also prove to be gaming's Citizen Kane moment".

    IGN awarded it a 10/10 score, describing it as a "masterpiece", and saying that it is "PlayStation 3's best exclusive and an absolute must-play".

    Criticism came from GameSpot, who pointed out flaws with a combat system that often "broke its own rules", and described the game's supporting characters as "rarely sympathetic". They ultimately gave the game …
