Stage 5 Edit

Should the Stage 5 heading be bolded or is that an error, because none of the other ones are.Grazie, arrivederci -ItsTheGecko (talk) 06:45, June 3, 2013 (UTC)ItsTheGecko

There is no stage 5.

In the page there is Grazie, arrivederci -ItsTheGecko (talk) 07:21, June 3, 2013 (UTC)

__

Well, I'll be damned, you're right! In that case, I'd say just keep it in the same format as the other stages.

Okay, Thanks Grazie, arrivederci -ItsTheGecko (talk) 19:25, June 3, 2013 (UTC)

No problem. I just really hope there aren't too many types of infected, I'd like them to keep it somewhat simple.

Do you have the GOW:A demo? Grazie, arrivederci -ItsTheGecko (talk) 20:24, June 3, 2013 (UTC)

__

Unfortunately I do not. I don't really play PS3, so I never got God of War Ascension. Of course, when I learned there was a demo for The Last of Us only available to God of War Ascension owners I regretted that decision. Why do you ask?

Sethylamine, that red pyramid thing. 23:22, June 3, 2013 (UTC)

Because inside the demo there is a chart that shows all 4 types of infected (Stage 5 really isnt a stage its more just like the infected dying) but the four are runners, stalkers, clickers, and bloaters. So those are the only types and that keeps it simple.

So Stalkers is the final stage I didn't know about? Cool.

Yea and there was just an update about the fourth stage on the infected page. Grazie, arrivederci -ItsTheGecko (talk) 03:50, June 4, 2013 (UTC)

Non Hostile Runners? Edit

I haven't seen a single runner that didn't try to kill me. Is this information accurate?

Sackchief (talk) 20:15, June 19, 2013 (UTC)

it means runners that are not moving from their spot unless they see JoelsΓΣamyGoreng 15:34, June 24, 2013 (UTC)
No it's true. An hour before I posted this, I was in tunnel with the 3 Bloaters. I had passed in front of a Runner, about 4 feet away, it did nothing, just twitched. Subject 9 (talk) 06:29, June 28, 2013 (UTC)
Are you talking about the runners that are actually "running" or the "non moving and just standing there" runners, 112.207.57.87 07:18, June 28, 2013 (UTC)

SplitEdit

This article should be split. We should:

  • link the articles for Runners, Stalkers, Clickers, Bloaters and Spore Cadaver.
  • generalize this parent aticle

sΓΣamyGoreng 13:49, June 26, 2013 (UTC)

I agree, this needs to happen, the article is too long altogether, I'll work on this tomorrow. Wyvern777 (talk) 14:20, December 1, 2013 (UTC)

Stalkers don't 'take cover' they just run straight up at youEdit

Yes, that's their name but they don't even use stealth when targetting you. I think the statement in this article is a bit...misleading; " they seem to have some use of intelligence or discretion when chasing a victim - they will strafe and take cover, eventually closing in on the victim". This is incorrect because in the game, as soon as they sense or see you are in the area, they will just run straight up at you. We should describe them as being 'extremely' agressive rather than steathly and quiet which they are not at all. 119.224.40.138 00:59, June 30, 2013 (UTC)

Edit: they don't run straight up at you. Yes, they run and become agressive when they see you but they normally like to run towards your back but still they're not using stealth.119.224.40.138 01:12, June 30, 2013 (UTC)
Incorrect. I don't know if they take cover but they definitely do not just mindlessly run at you. They sometimes stop on an area where you can not shoot them and sometimes just wait for you or if you take long enough, they will attack sΓΣamyGoreng 04:50, July 5, 2013 (UTC)
That's what I meant by the 'Edit' up there. What I'm saying is they're noisy and very fast. When they are closing on you they shout a lot like a 'Runner' or 'Clicker'. Not stealthy or sneaky at all. Anyways its been re-edited already. Thanks.119.224.40.138 11:58, July 10, 2013 (UTC)
I hate when people call The Infected, zombies, the definition of the word zombie is "the living dead" these people never died and therefore are not zombies. So, can those people please stop calling them that. 68.9.143.29 22:47, September 4, 2013 (UTC)
And I hate when people get bent out of shape over zombie-semantics, because it's pretty obvious that the game's backstory is basically meant to be a zombie apocalypse, just with a different twist, i.e. living, fungus-addled cannibals instead of dead cannibals. It's about humanity being nearly wiped out by a disease that turns humans into mindless, bloodthirsty monsters, and pretty much the only differences are a couple of details about the exact nature of those formerly-human monsters.
I mean if someone personally prefers to call them "infected" instead of "zombies", there's nothing wrong with that. But getting anal about "correcting" people on how "they're not zombies!!" is just silly. 50.174.18.182 08:07, October 30, 2013 (UTC)
UPDATE: They do actually take cover but only when they are far away from you and are aware of your presence. But if you get very close they will become very violent and charge at you. They are actually more dangerous than normal runners. I added some things on the section now while leaving some information in tact.203.184.20.201 23:06, February 12, 2014 (UTC)

Death and Corpse Edit

In this section, it says that when an infected dies, the fungus continues to grow and spread. I thought it was said (or implied) that once an infected gets killed by some means (ie. Joel shoots it with a shotgun), the process stops. I mean, if it didn't, why would the Army kill those who're infected inside the safezone? Conqueror of all Zombies (talk) 02:31, December 15, 2013 (UTC)

Well, I think the Army probably burns those bodies to destroy any spores, but that's just my opinion.  M67PattonZippo (talk) 12:48, December 15, 2013 (UTC)

Clickers's GenderEdit

"Interestingly, most of the Clickers seen in the game appear to have been female humans. Whether this is intentional or due to developer oversight is unknown."

Actually, this statement is ncorrect and needs to be fixed. The very first Clicker you see in the game, the dead one in the Collapsed Building, was seemingly a male human as shown by the clothings and appearance. The first "alive" Clicker you see, the one that is shot to death by Tess, also appears to have been male human. There are also two clickers in the Collapsed Building Exit (when you have to bring down the latter) which were members of the U.S military, and judging by the size of their clothes they were also male. Not to mention, in the entrance to Bill's Town you can see a couple of male clickers which were also members of the U.S military. Yes, there's a lot of female clickers in the game, but there's also a lot of "male" clickers, so i'm deleting this. Kepekley23 (talk) 19:20, March 6, 2017 (UTC)

The "Clicker" in Dying Light isn't a Clicker Edit

I just watched a video clip of the easter egg in question on YouTube and it is not a Clicker, it's just some dude with his head split apart T-1000 style. Ghost Leader (talk) 09:38, May 8, 2017 (UTC)

While the zombie in the Easter egg technically isn't a clicker, it's supposed to appear similar and reference one, especially considering after killing the zombie, it drops an item called "Clicker." NinjaFatGuy (talk) 18:58, May 8, 2017 (UTC)
I don't doubt that it was an attempt to homage TLoU, it's just the trivia point implied it was an actual Clicker rather than a zombie resembling one. At any rate, I've clarified the statement, so it's no longer an issue. Ghost Leader (talk) 10:36, July 2, 2017 (UTC)
