David as a Hebephile Edit

A man CAN touch a girl's hand without it having sexual implications, you know. This hebephile nonsense is speculation and needs to stay out of a facts-based wiki, anyway. 69.119.28.114 20:26, June 26, 2013 (UTC)

Regardless, enough people have inferred to earn it a spot in the Trivia section. --Klock101 (talk) 22:20, June 26, 2013 (UTC)
Plus his voice actor Noland North pretty much said David wanted to...do things to Ellie. Croyez-en les Militaires Sans Frontières! (talk) 22:28, June 26, 2013 (UTC)
Hebephilia and breeding harem, are two completely different things. Let's be straight here; this is a survival culture, the only "age of concent" issue in such a culture is that of dropped balls and bleeding. Ellie is 14, she bleeds, she is a breeding adult. The world Joel is from, had the luxery of debating "age of concent"; Ellie's world does NOT!!! Now, during her teens, she will get pregnant virtually every time; during her 20's her breeding prowess will rapidly decline; during her 30's (assuming she survives this long) she will have an extremely low likelihood of pregnancy, no matter how much sex she has. This is why "hebephilia" is even a thing, post pubecent teens, are in their prime breeding years, and society requires breeders to survive. Ergo, it doesn't matter if David is a hebephile or not; he has built a cult, and acquired a harem; that is all. Shadizar666 (Ruck Rules) 04:33, September 15, 2015 (UTC)

Voice and Nolan North Edit

Should the section about David's voice go on Nolan North's page? It doesn't seem to fit well where it is now.  M67PattonZippo (talk) 13:18, July 31, 2013 (UTC)

I personally think it should be on Nolan's page not David's.TPShadowDragon Born into flame! 15:34, July 31, 2013 (UTC)

Ok, I'll move it then  M67PattonZippo (talk) 16:16, July 31, 2013 (UTC)

Proposed quote change Edit

Given recent edits, I'm opening a discussion to talk about changing the quote on the article. User:Sasha Taymasov had proposed this quote:

You think you know me? Huh? Well, let me tell you somethin'. You have no idea what I'm capable of.
— David's last words to Ellie before killed by Ellie with a machete

replace the original quote:

Everything happens for a reason.
— David's beliefs

What do our fellow editors feel? Snivystorm (talk) 09:22, June 15, 2018 (UTC)

While both of those quotes describe David's personality and outlook on life, we could always include the new one farther down in the article.  M67PattonZippo (talk) 11:00, June 15, 2018 (UTC)
Yeah, this quote change is a tough one for me. The currant one displays David's core belief (a big factor in the game as a whole) but the proposed one presents his sinister undertone that he hid so well in his open threat to Ellie, providing the hint that there is more to this man than anyone initially thought. Definitely need more opinions on this one. As always, we can include both quotes on the page, but one needs to be the main one. Snivystorm (talk) 11:20, June 15, 2018 (UTC)

Given seven says have passed and no further discussion has taken place, the verdict stands that the quote we have already shall remain the key quote on the page. This discussion is now closed.

Verdict: Quote remains as is. Snivystorm (talk) 18:23, June 22, 2018 (UTC)
