Supply Raid is a game mode in the Factions mode of The Last of Us.
Objectives[]
Players are split into two teams of up to four each, and both teams are given twenty total lives to be shared among the players (not including the initial lives each player has). When players are killed, they respawn after waiting somewhere between 5 and 15 seconds. The objective of the game is to completely eliminate the enemy team by depleting all their remaining lives.
Players are given a warning when their team only has eight more lives. When they are reduced to zero lives (but the remaining players are still alive), they enter "Sudden Death" mode, where they are given the general location of each enemy player on the minimap, displayed by a blip on the radar every five seconds. When there is only one player remaining and all lives have been used up, they enter "Last Man Standing" mode, and are granted additional parts. In addition, the next Loot Box they open after "Last Man Standing" has been activated will yield significantly better supplies than usual, including purchaseable ammunition (if applicable) and a machete. Granted, this special bonus only occurs once - the next box will yield the typical amount of supplies.
Tactics[]
- Fortitude, First-Aid Training 2 or 3 and Reviver are very useful in this game mode: not only do they help teams hold a tactical advantage over their rivals, they help preserve the number of lives remaining for their team.
- Teams that work closely together are at less risk to being picked off than players who want to strike off on their own. Downed players are more likely to be within reviving range, and even if they don't revive they can be a tempting distraction for the opposing team. Players can also use Crafter 2 or 3 to help each other gain a power advantage over their opponents, plus it is advantageous to be able to craft items quickly to avoid exposure to the enemy.
- With good awareness, players can still go lone wolf to flank enemy teams, but doing so is risky. Being downed while alone practically guarantees death at little additional risk to the enemy team and the Lone Wolf perk in general synergizes poorly with teamwork.
- If one team starts losing players in a fight without doing much damage to the opposing team, it is better to fall back and wait for their teammates to respawn. Having smaller numbers than the opposing team in a fight is a big disadvantage and continuing to fight can turn a minor defeat into a decisive loss.
