  • I think that you need to think about locking that forum. All the regulars have had their say; it's nothing but a spambot magnet now.

    • Hey there :)

Yeah you're right. There is actually talk on the thread towards the bottom about closing it but I guess we never got round to it. I've went ahead and closed it; not like there is anything else to really add to it anyway.

  • Hey, thanks for all your work on everything so far, but especially for keeping an eye out for spambots on The Vaccine Debate thread. I was just wondering, do you also block the user after removing posts like that? I almost always do, for about a month or so. Helps to keep them from coming back as easily.

  • Hey there, Snivystorm. Recently I've decided to split the "Moderator" right here on the wiki into separate "Discussions Moderator" and "Content Moderator", as opposed to where we previously had the two together as one right. I did this because of the announcement for The Last of Us Part II where the community (hopefully) will become more active again.

As I'm sure you know, Content Moderator moderates the wiki's mainspace -- its articles, recent edits, files, etc, while Discussions Moderator moderates the wiki's discussions -- chat, forums, blogs, etc.

With the split, I'd like to know what position you would like to hold. This is entirely based on which department you are more active/interested in, however, if you'd like to continue to keep both rights, you are completely allowed. Please let me know, thanks!

    • Hey again, Snivystorm! With the other two moderators choosing to be content mods, I'd like to know if you're still willing to have discussion mod rights? You're the most active out of the three mods and I usually see you on discussions as well, so let me know! Thanks.

    • Hey, yeah id be down for that. Ironically I've been the away this week on holiday, but I'm back now ^_^ (waves flag)

Yeah, I'd be fine with that thanks :)

  • Hey, I read up on editing and I'm ready to start working. Just message me on my wall asap. Ttyl!

    • Awesome! Alrighty, it's pretty simple then, you know all the cinema tics in the game; cutscenes and what not; it'd be great if you could make transcript pages for the Left Behind DLC. They're are the shortest so it's probably easiest to start there.

Just check the "cinematics" category to get an idea of the general structure Juniper went with: just follow that when you make them.

Any questions, feel free to check in and ask. ^_^

    • Hey there. I think you may have misunderstood what I meant. The intention was for you to make the ones Juniper hasn't made, the ones he has made are fine, no edits needed.

Remember I anted you to make the Left Behind cutscenes.

  • Hey there! Just reaching out to you as requested by NinjaFatGuy.

I'm Technobliterator from Vanguard just reaching out to you about the Portable Infobox tool. You may have heard of this before, but you can read about its benefits here and here if you're interested. This is mostly a backend change in which I'll change the code so it's cleaner and shows up better on non-desktop skins such as mobile, but still replicate as much as possible the look and feel of your current infoboxes.

You can see examples of the PI versions of your infoboxes here, and I'd like to be able to do this for all of them. Ninja's basically said he doesn't feel too strongly about it and wouldn't be too upset if they were converted, so if you're cool with it then I think we can go ahead. Please let me know what you think. Thanks!

    • Hey! So, I've converted most of the infoboxes except for those that don't have pages on them (you can see the rest here). So you can now delete Infobox VG, InfoboxComic, InfoboxWeapon and InfoboxPendant, as I converted them and fixed all the pages.

The only ones I haven't changed yet are:

      1. 9mm Pistol - wasn't sure what you want to do with reloadspeed2 or firerate2?
      2. Any of the InfoboxTrainingManual. To fix up the images, they'd have to look like the Gallery on Infobox/Collectible comic pages as I've updated - you can see an example on Singularity. Alternatively, they could look more like the updated Infobox/Weapon pages with two images, as seen on Revolver. I'll do whichever you prefer before converting InfoboxTrainingManual.

Let me know and I'll finish up, and if you have any questions related to infoboxes, CSS, HTML and the like in future, don't hesitate to drop me a message!

    • Alright, thanks, it's all looking good. I'll begin doing some housekeeping with the articles and fix up some things. As for the training manuals, we'll actually just use Infobox/Collectible for Training Manuals rather than their own template.

      Thanks!

  • Hello, I personally don't understand the logic about the rule on swearing, I've just seen you reply to my summary on Tess' page. Considering the game is for people who're adults, and considering the game has a rather large amount of violence, I fail to see why we should censor ourselves for a wiki based around a game with such content.

    • That's some mighty fine administration right there, "Don't like our rules? Leave". I'm offering criticism based on from what I've been told about the whole rule and being told to leave doesn't really throw much weight on the state of this community.

I'm just telling you the same thing that Staff would have said if you would have sent in that Special:Contact. If you really want, you can start up a thread on the forums to discuss modifying the rules.

  • Hey Snivystorm!

I just wanted to say that after reviewing some of your contributions, you look pretty fit for a position as a moderator (pretty much rollback + all the moderator rights) here on the wiki. You seem very responsible and your contributions on both the mainspace and the forums are very consistent and active compared to the rest of the wiki.

Therefore, I am curious to know if you're interested in gaining rollback/moderator rights? If you're interested, then I'll drop Zippo a message to see if he approves as well. Thanks and keep up the good work!

    • Yeah, you've got both but I assume the Discussions Moderator tag overrides the other tags for some reason.

No problem, let me know if there's anything else. Thanks.

  • I saw how you undid my edits. I'm sorry if they were wrong. I don't want to be a pain, I love to edit wikias I love. But could you name some things for me to edit or do so I won't have to bother you with undoing what I had just done? Thanks and sorry again!

      Loading editor
    • Hey Jessica! Don't feel bad, it's a common thing that some edits do get undone, I've had my fair share of such things so don't worry about it.

It wasn't so much that your edits were "a pain" or "wrong" it's just edits such as adding the last of us movie image are best done when validated with a source/reference; for all we know, it could be fan-made and so on. Your image of the manuals was not incorrect either but, since the image doesn't wholly address what the page represents, that one was best as a gallery to encompass all of the manuals on the page; it would be deeply appreciated if you add some more of those images as well! ^_^

    • Okay, thank you! I always do those kind of things when I first join a wiki. I have joined a lot of wikis and I'm comfortable in them with their ways of editing. I guess I'll learn the ways here then! Thanks again!
