Marathon Runner is a Survival Skill in The Last of Us.

General informationEdit

Marathon Runner enables users to be more mobile, allowing them to better flank, engage, and escape from enemies. Judicious use of running can turn the tide of battle, but can be detrimental to users and their teammates as running gives away their position on the radar. Running may also lure the enemies as bait to focus on the player, acting as a distraction to leave the enemy exposed for a flank. When the player is running to escape from being overwhelmed, some enemies may choose to chase them; this perk ensures they are left in the dust.

Tips and tacticsEdit

Marathon stacks well with the DLC-only survival skill Agility. Agility increases the speed at which players walk, run, and crouch-walk. The perk works best when they player is running to or through an area with lots of cover, ensuring snipers or any enemy trying to shoot the player will be unable to land their shots. It also assists in rush tactics, a player able to close ground when attacking the enemy much more efficiently.

Skill informationEdit

There are two versions of the perk, the Level 2 being better despite the higher cost:

  • Level 1 (1 loadout point) - The user is able to sprint for 15% longer and sprint meter regenerates 15% faster.
  • Level 2 (3 loadout points) - The user is able to sprint for 30% longer and sprint meter regenerates 30% faster.
